Teaser: Fela Kuti: Movement of the People
Two posts in one day! Woah!
Just wanted to post this teaser image – I photographed Movement of the People, a band that plays the music of Fela Kuti, at Higher Ground last Friday. Fela Kuti, for those of you that don't know, was an incredible Nigerian musician who pioneered afrobeat music. More to follow, but I spotted this image as I was uploading and just wanted to share it with my readers – however few and far between they may be due to my inability to post regularly on this blog.

Vintage Bridal Shoot
Yeah, I know. I'm a slacker. BUT that's because I've been busy posting on our Eve blog! I did a vintage bridal shoot the other day with models Mazey and Rose, and makeup artist Candy Keurth. Check out the full post here – I've included a couple images below as well. AND more of my own photos to follow soon. Promise. Happy three day weekend, everyone.

I was excited to see my photo in this month's issue of BRIDES magazine. I mentioned a few months ago that I won first place in the ceremony category of the 2008 WPJA/BRIDES contest. Well, here it is. The placement of the photo is not stellar (note that the dress, the focus of the image, is in the gutter) but oh well. I'm still pretty thrilled! Also check it out online on the BRIDES site and on the WPJA site.

This was a fun assignment - I photographed John Servin, a former Merrill Lynch exec, who turned down six-figure offers and moved from New York to rural Vermont to start a new life. I photographed him at his new home in Charlotte. Here are a few outtakes.
